Apply
Choose your Foundation(s) and membership levels in our shop, check out, and use the link emailed to you to complete the online application form.
Depending on the type of membership you choose, you will need all or some of the following: Proof of charitable status, if any (e.g., IRS 501(c)(3) letter, Charities Commission certificate, etc.); information about your charitable work; latest copy of financial records including a recent bank statement; name and contact details of three Trustees/Directors.
Your application cannot be considered unless we have received a fully completed form with all required documentation.


STEP 2
Due Diligence
We do the due diligence required in the country(ies) of the Foundation(s) to which you have applied to ensure your eligibility to become a member of the Foundation(s).
A one-time processing fee of £350 for one Foundation application will be applied, with processing fees for additional Foundations discounted to £50.
Your application is evaluated against the criteria required for each foundation you would like to join as different countries have different requirements. We will review your governing documents, mission, vision, current activities, and financial statements to ensure your organisation is able to receive grants in the appropriate countries. Once we are satisfied that your organisation meets the criteria for each country, the Board of each Foundation is notified of your desire to set up a fund. If they have objections you will be notified and your membership fee will be immediately refunded.
STEP 3
Approval
Upon confirmation of your eligibility, the Foundation(s) are notified of your request for a fund. Upon agreement by the Foundation(s) we immediately establish your fund*. Should there be objections by the Foundation(s), we will refund your membership fee after discussing them with you.
Once approved we will send you details of the team looking after you; critical dates for donations and grants; and donation details for donors.
An Agent’s Agreement must also be completed for the Canada Foundation before we can establish your fund. See the Canada Foundation web page for more information.
In the event of your application being rejected you will be refunded the membership fee. The due diligence fee is non-refundable.

Foundation Membership Levels
For all funds we provide:

Prices exclusive of VAT (where applicable).
Discounts apply when joining multiple Foundations, irrespective of the service level selected. When joining more than one Foundation, the discount will apply to all Foundation memberships. A full list of discounts (on memberships and set-up fees) can be viewed here
As a current member, you can apply to join additional foundations using an amended online application. Submit your details using this form and our Finance Department will issue an invoice.
Members may upgrade a membership at any time. You will be sent a pro-rated membership fee increase, and if some cases will be charged a due diligence fee. Requests to upgrade a membership can be submitted to upgrades@chapel-york.com
